Wayfair Review

Yeah, It's the holidays and I received the opportunity to do a review for the new Wayfair.  I am really impressed with their toy selection for both baby and older children.

They have a zillion things for every part of the home.  The Wayfair site is easy to navigate through and has good prices for all your holiday needs.

I am placing an order for a coffee percolator, they make the best hot coffee with out a filter.  I'll post a picture when it arrives.
Happy Holiday Shopping!

Homemade Sugar Scrub- Simply Healthy

                                           Simply Healthy
This is the sugar scrub that I made last night and it smells heavenly.

I love this stuff....this homemade sugar scrub makes my skin feels so smooth.  Jen, over at  Paint Cut Paste, shared this wonderful recipe with me and allowed me to share it with you! Her site is full of crafty kid goodness so be sure to check it out.

 Homemade Sugar Scrub:
Gather:

1/2 cup raw sugar (the brown kind)
joboba or sweet almond oil- I used olive because I so badly wanted to make this with out running to the store.
essential oil- I used lavender

How to make:
Just cover the sugar with the carrier oil in a jar, but don't fill it beyond that, then add about 20 drops of essential oil. Close the jar, shake, and enjoy!

What's In The Box?

We have started back with workboxes for both Jem and Olive, shown here in our homeschool room. I like the fact that I heard Olive say, "good, I only have one more box left to do".

For Jem it was more the sound in her voice like, "ahhh, and wow"! The lowercase letter "a," activities and apple lacing came from here.
Cutting and pasting Fall items came from here.
This fun Noah's arc animal sorting file folder game came from here.
Matching money is always a hit with Jem.
Olive enjoyed these trap door readers from Evanspor designs who generously sent us the PDF to download a few months ago. These trap door readers help children decode words one letter at time. Olive liked sliding the piece of paper across the letters and knowing she said the right word by the picture it revealed. They are easy to put together, just print, cut, and paste. The words can be printed in cursive, print, and lowercase.
Here is a photo from her Etsy site showing how nice they look when you use a bone folder. I wish I would have found these first before I went to the troubled of making my word sliders.
Happy Learning!

My Necklace has arrived.

Thanks to Counting Coconuts and the lovely craftsmanship of Moon Dog Farm of Maine, I now have a lovely new necklace to wear. It is a rose quartz mama necklace carved into a circle. The stone is strong, smooth, and lightweight to wear.  It shines a lovely color of rose-pink and arrived on a black leather string.

When I am holding Jem she likes to stick her finger through the circle and wear it like a ring.  I just want to say thanks for such a lovely giveaway and I am so happy to be the winner. Please check out Moon Dog Farm's etsy store for more adorable eco-friendly, and felted handicrafts.

A Mommy Book Review

I have a dear friend, Elizabeth, who is an incredible writer and I am so happy to be able to review her new book.  It's called The Tender Years, by Geri Laing and Elizabeth Laing Thompson. This mother-daughter duo writes from the heart with short devotionals, poetry, and helpful advice for preschool parents.

"This book is every preschool moms perfect companion. Like diapers and baby wipes, the Tender Years is a must have to help us get through those everyday "tender" moments of motherhood."

You can purchase her book on Amazon...even if she wasn't my friend, it's still a really great read for this time in my life!
