Classical Conversations

I am happy to say that we completed Cycle 1 of Classical Conversations. I will be tutoring next year and looking forward to the challenge.

At our end if year party the girls sang the Timeline song and showed off their art work.

Olive also took the Woodcock Johnson test last month. It was a good first test, which gave us a broad view on what she knows by age and grade.

We all had spring fevers...literally...but we are in the mend now!

We had fun recently at NC State's farm animal days, the NC symphony, and the park. Sports are also in full swing with softball and soccer filling up the calendar.

We look forward to finishing up our Saxon Math books and starting All About Spelling. The zoo and an orienteering trip are on the agenda for this week.

Our baby is quickly growing into a toddler...she already is, but I am in denial. She really enjoyed her first sensory tub!

I did allow the girls to hear some of the news about the Boston bombing, and I made sure that they knew the bad men were caught. We prayed for peace and for love to shine in everyone's hearts.

Easter Hand Lilies

We will be doing this again this year.  I just love how these cute Easter hand lilies preserve your child's little hand prints.  This hand print craft makes the sweetest keepsake for birthdays and holidays.
Step 1:  Trace and cut hand print, find a pipe cleaner for a stem, and a different color cut short for flower center, twist together.
Step 2:  Curl hand print fingers and fold around stem, secure with tape.
Step 3:  Add your lovely hand print lilies to a vase, no water required, just love!

I forgot to add that those cute little date coupons came from Amy's Blog at Let's Explore, they are adorable.

Erupting Volcanos

We had so much fun erupting this volcano made from a plastic bottle, aluminum foil, and clay.

These 4 simply ingredients made the eruption. Enjoy!

Bread Baking

I finally found a good sandwich whole wheat bread recipe, thanks to 100 Days Of Real Food.

Now, if I could only slice it right...any tips for that. We are enjoying baking this bread on a grey day in North Carolina.

Snowmen Bookmarks

Here is a fun popsicle stick craft that we are making for the avid readers in our family.
Gather popsicle sticks, small googley eyes, foam sheets, tiny pom-poms, strong glue, and a marker to drawl on the nose and mouse. I cut out the foam shapes and the girls glued everything onto the popsicle sticks.
